Information on Company’s Industry |

Solar Energy |
Installation of Solar System |
|
Solar power
has been found to be a good alternative to conventional
electricity particularly to consumers in remote areas
far from the National Grid. Ghana, which is
situated between latitudes 4 – 12 degrees North of the
Equator abounds in sun energy all year and the vision of
the company is to promote the use of this untapped
resource. |

The
electrical engineering field is one of which many
opportunities such as the following:
1. Government’s commitment to the Rural Electrification Programme.
2. Expansion in the Housing Industry.
3. The
cost-effectiveness of extending solar electricity to
communities far from the national grid. |
|
4. Unreliable electrical power and voltage fluctuations.
However,
these opportunities do not indicate
that the engineering field is one without threats. The
low standard of living of a greater percentage of the
Ghanaian population makes it difficult for a majority of
them to extend power to their homes without help from
the government.
The industry is also characterized by innumerable
unqualified contractors who take up jobs at any price
and therefore unable to perform or do so badly. |
